Costa Rica.

Teaching. Spanish. Central America. Let's combine three of your favorite things and see how you like it.

Ironically, it was hardest for me to see the love all around me in Costa Rica. It was there. It was there in the weekly trips to play soccer. It was there in trips for hamburgers and hot dogs with my friends. It was there in dinners with my host family and family vacations. It was there, I was just unwilling to see it.

My stint in Costa Rica was the first, though not last, opportunity I had to teach abroad. I was only in a classroom for two weeks as I spent the other four weeks attending a language school. My kindergarteners were amazing and I learned SO MUCH SPANISH. Not all of it entirely relevant to life outside the classroom (ie: don't pull my hair, stand in line, etc), but Spanish nonetheless.
